    Packing & Things to Consider

Temperatures in Fort Collins in mid-June can range from 50-95F in a single day. In your welcome pack, you will receive a small tote bag, journal, water bottle, and scrubs. The sun can be fierce and rain can be unpredictable – though neither will deter our activities. You are encouraged to check the weather prediction for Fort Collins before departing from home. We will rely on CSU transportation and will be walking considerable distances across campus each day (about 3-5 miles per day).

We do not have a dress code, but we do ask that you are tidy and clean, maintaining a personal appearance suitable to represent the veterinary profession to the public. We will provide you with a set of scrubs (top/bottom) to be worn during the Veterinary Teaching Hospital tour and in the anatomy labs. If you wish to wear your scrubs daily, then you can wash your scrubs (or other items) in the evenings using the free laundry facilities in the residence hall with detergent that will be provided. We will launder scrubs once for your during the week in between activities.

Lastly, you will need a device that can connect to the internet to access program materials and submit assignments. We will provide all students with a laptop and will use several on campus computer labs. You can also use your own device - which can be a laptop, tablet iPad, or even a smartphone. However, we are not responsible for lost or misplaced devices.

All participants will stay together in the Engineering Building of Academic Village. Participants will be assigned a roommate. Please note that standard sheets, pillows, and towels are included for your stay. Residence halls are secured with multiple locking doors that require key-card access. Each participant will receive a lanyard and key-card. Please note that all doors lock automatically once shut. In the residence hall, one towel, one pillow, and bed linens are provided, with one towel change on Wednesday.
